Italian Tuscan Master Handmade Violin Only Beate Kienitz – Born in Gluckstadt, Germany, Beate Kienitz grew up in Rome, Italy. She started her training at Mittenwald Violinmaking School. She subsequently worked in various workshops, such as Dietrich Reutterer, Salzburg, Carleen M.Hutchins, Montclair, N.J.,Andreas Kaegi, Berlin, Peter Biddulph, London, Andreas Post, Amsterdam and Hieronymus Koestler, Stuttgart.
She dedicated her work primarily to the restoration of valuable instruments. In 1989 she was awarded her diploma as a master violin maker in Berlin. In 1991 she returned to Italy , where she opened her own workshop in Turin, still concentrating on restoration. However, since 1997, after she moved to San Gimignano, she dedicated herself first and foremost to the construction of new instruments. In 2006 she moved to Berlin, maintaining part of her activity in Tuscany.
Her violins, violas and violoncellos are therefore the essence of about thiry years of experience, enriched by her profound knowledge of old instruments and the details defining their various schools and origin.
